  • Rear Prop / UJ - Need advice

    Hello Guys,

My Surf (2.4 LN130 ) deveolped a Rumbley vibrating yesterday , so took it in to my local mechanic who spotted the worn UJ causing play on the rear prop.

I just need to check that you can just change the UJ on this model rather than the whole prop assembly ?

The mechanic initialy thought i would need a whole prop , but then thought that it might be internal Cir clips or steaks ???? I dunno

So really just need to know if its gonna be a £10 UJ or a £135 Prop ?

    Cheers

MILNERS www.milneroffroad.com do a PROPSHAFT UJ for the LN130 @ £10.00 Your prices tally with milners so i guess youve already looked

I got mine changed (just the UJ) recently with no need to change the propshaft, £10 from milners and £10 for a local garage with a press to get it out, I couldn't shift it.

Tony did mine Tuesday night - changed both UJ's out in about an hour - might as well do both if you have it off. We used Milner's parts, but roughtrax list them also.

You need a hammer and a vice...

Apparently I did them, can't remember having been down the pub all evening waiting for Linda to get home from work.

But have lots of bits of old UJ scattered over the garage floor, large cut on knuckles and the Bullet runs smooth and quiet!

didnt want to start another new thread on this subject.

are there 2 UJs on the rear prop? if so is it worth changing both while i've got the prop off?

There are 2, they are identical so you may as well do both at least they will be the same age then
