  • Engine siezed!?

Driving to work today and had a big judder from the engine, cuts out and I pull to the side of the road. Won't start again, just get a click from the starter, won't even try and turn over. Put it in gear and try and push it down the slight hill but the engine wont turn over - a very bad sign.

I suspect my recently-bored-and-sleeved-rebuilt-with-new-head-at-great-expense-engine has just siezed

Not yet checked it out properly, anyone got any ideas/advice/sympathy/money?

    P.S. The RAC suck (again)
    No longer a Surf owner.

        Simon.

I hope that it is something simple like the timing belt slipped and jamming the engine whithout having done any further damage. The belt only needs to slip about 3 teeth and the valves will jam the pistons.

Sorry to hear about it though having just gone through a pretty major rebuild myself it's really gutting for this to happen. Got to go out in a minute and see where I've got an oil leak from, have a horrible feeling it's the sump in which case it's off with the diff again to get at it.

Good luck and I will keep my fingers crossed that no major damage has resulted.

        Cheers
