I've not long had my Surf and didn't know anything about running them on veggie oil until I met a guy on holiday, he told me he was running his on veggie oil and diesel mix. What do I have to do to be able to run mine on veggie oil? Do I need to make any mods to my surf and how do I register as a biofuel producer even tho I'm a mere electrician? Any helpful tips would be much appreciated
Hiya Ninja
you don't need to do any mods at all but you should declare it to customs.
Just go to tesco fill up a trolley with some of their finest and pour it straight into the tank but you should get a spare fuel filter to be ready to change as the veggie will loosen the crud in the tank

So how do you get the oil out of the container and leave the gloop in place? Can you pour it carefully, or do you syphon it out?
I just keep the hose sucking the oil into the transfer pump at a height just above the gloop layer. That way it only sucks the good oil into the pump. You occasionally get a bit of gloop going through (especially when you near the end), but that gets trapped in the filters anyway.
Yeah, they are big clear(ish) plastic containers. Each one holds about 40-50 ltrs and when the oil settles, you can see a definite line between the gloop and good oil.
