G'day,
I've bought a 1990 2lt Surf, and it seems the previous owner has made an excellent effort to block off the coolant overflow reservoir by installing a piece of threaded rod where it connects to the thermostat housing, which they have then used to reseat the overflow hose (you wouldn't know the hose is blocked until you slide it off the rod). Sure, they would have put the hose back in place so it passes roadworthy, but could there be any valid reason why the overflow reservoir has been blocked off?
Appreciate any input.
