Mouldings on lower doors 200 3rd Jen

so I’ve bought a 3rd gen surf snit has an aftermarket bullbar and looking to remove the rest of the plastic crap mouldingsalong the bottom of the doors
My question is are the doors painted underneath these moulds and has anyone done it ?
The standard wheel flares mould in to these so would look a bit of a eye sore so a set of standard hilux flares that shape to the original door contour would fit ?
