  • 2L-te and 1KZ-te injector pump compatibility

    Hi,
I'm new to this platform and was hoping for some help and advice.

I have a 1992 Surf with the 2L-te enging. Recently I experience a a niesel to injectors problem. After a lot of reading on different forums and a lot of diagnosing, I managed to figure out that the Spill valve is stuffed.

To my Shock, I found out that a new Spill valve costs almost R8000 (442 pounds). I then managed to buy a complete 2nd hand pump for much less. To my dismay, when the pump arraved, I discovered that it was off a 1KZ-te. The pumps look identical, put the codes are different and the 1KZ-te one has a Fuel temp sensor where the 2L-te does not.

Now my big question. Can I fit the 1KZ-te pump as is on my 2L-te and what would the effect be?

    Advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys they are compatible but the 1kzte pumps have longer plunger length 12 something while the 2lte pumps have 10 something, so u can use the 1kzte pump on the 2lte but u would need to adjust the screw on the spill valve .But when using a 2lte pump on a 1kzte engine u need to either swap the plunger to the longer from Ur old pump or buy a new one or some people say it will sacrifice performance (citation needed) But the 1kzte and 5le pumps have same plunger lengths. Here in my country 1kzte fuel pumps are almost more expensive then 2lte fuel pumps but most of the differences are a lie to sell more fuel expensive pumps also I believe 3cte fuel pump is also similar to the 2lte fuel pumps but depend as some have a ROM while the old gens have resistors to the side for timing and fuel quantity adjustment u can just reuse Ur old rom or resistors .All of the pumps are based on the sensor VCD 3 platform.

All pumps are based on the Denso VCD 3 Platform.
