Eric and Betty the snails ran out of milk for breakfast.
Eric agreed to run down the local 24/7 to get some milk, as it was only 100yds away he should be back in an hour or so.
Anyway, an hour passes and he's not back, two hours pass and no sign, 3 hours pass and Betty is starting to worry, 4 hours pass and theres a light tap on the door, Betty rushes to the front door and opens it to see Eric standing there all busted up, his shell is cracked, he has a black eye and a fat nose, a bruised foot and is looking a sorry state.
Betty cries ' Oh Eric, what happened to you?'
'Oh it was terrible he moaned, I was mugged by a gang of tortoises'
'Oh my god Eric', says Betty, 'did you see who they were?'
'Nah' says Eric, 'it all happened too fast'
