Oh so true...and don't forget the 1/2 penny or penny chews and a bag of crisp was 12p as opposed to 30+ pence

You would hate being grounded because only a few kids had Atari consoles with pong [table tennis] or pacman not like nowadays where they have tv's, mini hi-fis and PS2/ etc to play with in the bedroom.

So you won't remember watching 6-5 Special on the old B&W TV on a Saturday night then Sumo. G.d, you kids had it soo easy. Bet you didn't have to rest on old wooden desks in school and dip your fountain pen into the inkwell every few words to learn to write either.

We had them . Our headmaster was The Living Dead /Coffin Dodger , and was bought up in the 1600's . We had to learn to write with a ink pen and dip the nib a certian depth in the ink so not to 'blob' the ink on the paper . This was only the mid 70's . We were tested every week for handwritting and if we had deterriated we went back to using a pencil .

i can remember having to walk into fairford to get supplies for the old folks when we got snowed in for the week..

I hate to say it but having done some family history reasearch I found out one of my gggrandfathers WAS a rag & bone man, although he was described just as a "dealer" on my ggrandfather's marriage certificate.

PS What about Andy Pandy and Muffin The Mule. Compared to CBBC etc they were class acts.

Muffin the mule aint allowed anymore. animal rights put a stop to it!

                          Andy pandy was gay!
