  • Fed up with unwanted telephone sales calls

Hi all if you like me are fed up with unwanted telephone calls from companies trying to sell you loans and insurance you can now register your number with a government sponsored service. Under new regulations which came into force in June 2004 it became illegal to make unsolicited telephone calls to numbers registered with TPS. Follow the link and read for yourself. http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/what/ It really does work and takes about 28 days to take effect.

Didn,t work for me still got the unwanted calls after 28 days. I was then given a second number to dial if the first one didn,t work. and five months later I still get them.

Yup, did this a long time ago, and it's worked wonders. Still get the very occasional phone call (one every couple months), but it's much better that the 2 or 3 a week I was getting.

The best way to deal with these call is the tried and tested why why method.
to every question you are asked you answer why and see how long it is befor the blow themsevles up. its great fun cause they get a boloxong for hanging up (if indeed they are able to hang up also it really messes with their figures if you keep them on the phone fo 30 mins.

I'm still getting monthly phone calls from a company that loaned me some money over five years ago, despite me having paid up on the button. It always starts off, "Hello Mr S******, Just a courtesy call."

To which I reply that the most courteous thing they could do is f*** off and stop bugging me! What's a nice Scottish lassie doing working for a company like that.

Hadn't heard of that one... thanks malenibo...

Helps if I read the link first... it is the same place... make sure you register all household occupants... and all varying names... They can never spell my surname if their lives depended on it.
                          ***

                          Along the same lines...

For all that unwanted junk mail...
Alternatively, you could bundle it all up and compress it into the nice return envelopes they give you... It is always over the postage so ends up costing them more to recieve the same crap back...

Whatever happened to the great AOL protest? I think it was last year, a pressure group was trying to get everyone to save their AOL promotional CD ROMs, write return to sender and post them back on the same day. Bwaaaahaha!!
