I hope that the rule isn't perceived by too many to be silly. It's done for the best reasons as the PM system was getting a bit abused with people receiving PMs from people as their first contribution to the board, then disappearing never to return. Thats not what it is there for.
The new PM rule is there to make things simpler for everyone, not as a stupid piece of beaurocracy. I hate Beaurocracy as much as probably most people her and that is not what the forum is about.
If people input valid email addresses when registering - they have to now as when you register you will be sent an email and need to click on a link to activate - then email is a good way to overcome this problem.

hey people........ i'm off joint testing with tony this evening (not last night, due to unknown family things.....) at this stage i'm not 100% sure of the name of the pub we're gonna meet in (and that's before testing them there joints...haahaa) but i do know where it is (this is gonna be fun). i have to shoot off to taunton this morning but when i get back i'll check on the name of said public house at let you all know (unless of course linda speaks to him during the morning and beats me to it.........

and of course you're all more than welcome to join us....... yeah yeah i know some of live 2 light years away etc etc. but there's a lot of ewes that's live around these here parts so lets go fill some car park with surfs........
