sorry to ask as it probable been asked a million times before but its doing my head in how are you guys getting your avatars down to size I know it has to be 100x100 dpi or les than 24 kb I have tried a couple of ways of editing and compressing picks to size but still cant upload them as it says image to big this is one i tried

In your photo editor look at the picture size. Your pic will be X x Y . Reduce to about an eighth of the size you showed us and you will be about right. Reduce both by the same amount otherwise the pic will be squashed or stretched.

I had the same trouble when I was a newbie!
