Just done one of those stupid things this morning..............put some stuff in the boot, closed it, then the window wouldn't go back up and was making funny beeping noises........of sh!t, me thinks, was just reading about daft things this morning, don't panic................turn the immobilisor on/off/on/off/on/off, start engine and try to put window up with the button....still no luck..........maybe I hadn't clicked the spare wheel back properly?? (all sorts of silly reasons going thru head now)...........oh no, got to travel 120 miles tomorrow.....wot a dappy moo I am........the woofer's blanket was caught in the hinge of the back door! so it now seems mama smurf is more intelligent than me as she was talking to me (beep beep) to let me know.
Right I'm now off to find a manual so I can learn fluent Toyota HiLux Surf!!!!!!!

Changed the oil on the drive using my totally unadequate oil catcher (holder thingy) the oil started flowing hit the oil catch with such velocity (being so high up) it just bounced off it............................ .....it's amazing how much 1 gallon of oil looks like when it's flowing down your drive

I replaced the Cylinder head on mine but in reassembling it forgot the small semi circular seal at the rear of the camshaft that fills in the hole made when the head is line bored for the camshaft.
Pi**ed oil all over mine and the mother in laws drive, took nearly a year and about 15 goes to get all the oil off the tarmac.
And I also had sent the old head back to UKCylinderheads with the blanking plug on it. Luckily they found it and sent it back without even charging me the postage.
Plus, ripped half the car interior out when my rear window wouldn't work from the switch - pulled wires, got the meter out etc etc.
2 days later found the switch on the driver's door was switched to lock out the windows.
Cheers

My cock up was equaly sad.
Purchased second hand fridge freezer, about six feet long, I the proud hunter-gatherer managed after much swearing and squashed fingers, to squeeze it into the back of the surf, Hurrah !
Until I the proud hunter-gather arrived to show wifey my aquisition, and could not open the tailgate due to the proximity of the fridge and the inner handle, oh how we all laughed!
DogOk nicely done, when we dry off we can go find the boat!

When we got the 4 runner we got 2 keys... well we started using the really worn one and kept the other as a spare (it was so worn you could take it out while the truck was running!!) I drove it fine - never had a problem.
Then Tony decided that we should use the other key, (not worn). So Linda gets in the car, drives it, stops it and trys to get the key out of the ignition. No joy - it wont come out. So I check its not in gear, handbrake etc.. Give it a good wiggle and tug, eventually I have to ask Tony and he points out a small button on the top of the steering column that needs to be depressed to release the key! He assumed I'd always used it! I did feel silly as I didnt even see it!!

Nod my head
Away from the vehicle side of things......I remember way back when I was 5 years old.....
We used to own a static caravan in Pilling and one day my father was doing some jobs and asked if I wanted to help...big mistake!!!
He was bent over holding a nail in a piece of wood and uttered those immortal words [of which I had not heard before] when I nod my head, hit it.....welll you know what coming next...
He nodded his head and I hit it.....his head of course and all my mother could do was laugh as he literally saw stars whilst crawling on his knees into the caravan and then she said that'll teach you.Gaz

I too have done the "cant get the key out" trick, but mine was in a busy caravan site with limited manouvering room and it was pouring with rain so I was sure of a large audience. Had to push the caravan to an angle to the roadway so I could get the Surf up to the hitch as the road wasnt wide enough, then several attempts at lowering front steadies and adjusting jockey wheel height to get hitch up to the towball. Finally boss says ok and I turn off ignition and jump out to connect up electrics, back into Surf - cant turn the key! Almost ten minutes and about to resort to molegrips to pull the bugger out before I notice the beep-beep that tells you the key is still in the ignition when you get out was not sounding, audience are now into 2nd cup of tea and she is not amused, casually glance at gearchange and push it nonchalantly into park hoping she wont notice, FAT CHANCE!
But there's more..........in supermarket carpark last week waitin as usual and decide to shine dashboard - spray shiny stuff and wipe with duster, this moves all the switches and buttons of course everything ends up in the off position. Rog turns ignition on to open window and I hear what sounds like a fan running impossible - fan is off air con is off radio is off ham rig is off....now what? Open bonnet cant see anything turning and noise definetely seems to be in the cabin, boss then returns with the whats wrong with !!!!!! thing now?? "Nothing darling, just checking" took me 2 days to find out one of my grandsons had turned on the rear heater fan! Holding on to whats left of my dignity have decided not to share this with my beloved[COLOR=DeepSkyBlue]Rog

After bringing a trailer home yesterday I proceeded to reverse it onto the drive which is a 90 degree bend. Lots of cars coming and I cocked it up and slightly hit the wall (damn tinted windows!). I tried again not wanting to hurry myself due to the now line of cars queing to get through as well as pedestrians trying to cross in front of the drive. To my delight I got it on the drive in the perfect position I wanted.... went round to unhitch and the thing had wedged on the rear wheel
Time to start over...Tim

But I havent had any problems with interference on either 2m or 70cms either stationary or mobile at various speeds, but I did move the magmount to the rear of the roof so I could bring the coax in through the tailgate seal and run it under the boot carpet away from the wiring in the side panels.[COLOR=DeepSkyBlue]Rog
