Rusty,
Is your just the standard wheel carrier off an import surf? If so did you do the strengthening work yourself or did you get someone else to do it (if so who?)
And on another note, I quite like the idea of not having to drill holes in the tail gate/ body, I found http://www.kaymar.com.au/toy100.html and http://www.4wdworld.com.au/products/formulaoffroad/ but both are really expensive, does anyone know if these are made in the UK?

Sorry folks, after all that, I'm not gonna bother. I'm just going to carry a can of tyre weld 500ml. With the 182 quid that saves, can afford 2 Yokohama G011's (I get them cheap) plus the weld, plus a curry and some beer.
So as above the cost is 182.47 inc vat and delivery for all the bits - my calculation - and someone will need to do what I was going to do, fit it and make a worksheet for others if that's okeh. Anyone interested in doing that PM me for the supplier.
You're gonna need to drill same as Rusty, about 16 holes, plus move the number plate off center. It would be great to make some templates for other peeps to use, does that sound reasonable ?
Dave.

edit
Rusty's pics look very similar to the BOM I have, agreed Mark C ?
However, the Cherokee has completely vertical sides, whereas the Surf leans in at the top. You would probably have problems fitting it this way and not putting pressure on the side window.
Cheers
