I once came across a bloke who had somehow locked all four wheels of a saloon car and wound up almost completely blocking the M40 westbound slip at Denham.

I helped the Police out by towing him off the ramp... it was fantastic as they wanted me to tow him all the way up the ramp and onto the refuge on the hard shoulder.

You just had to be there... the noise was horrendous as all four of his wheels were just dragging on the road smoking like mad. And the poor bugger just sat there wondering why he couldnt steer anymore.

I stopped when I saw the smoke but the Police said to keep going no matter what so I dragged him some 500 yards until he started to slide sideways down the camber a little too close to the concrete safety barrier.

Never figured out how he had locked all four axles

I have parking for around 3 cars in my drive so I never park on street. I have however had a wee 'accident' with someone parking over my exit.

Dont you just love threads of this ilk? post after post of what I did when it happened to me, what Id like to do if it was me, what I would do if it was me. Each one more outrageous than the last, lots of macho posturing,

                This one caught my eye!!!

We have an old dear who lives next door to us on our estate with on drive parking, however she never uses her drive instead she parks in the estate car park and moans if you take what she considers her space! (Note spaces are supposed to be 1st come 1st served.) To make matters worse she also moans if someone parks in what she considers her husbands space and he's been dead and buried along with his car for 2 years!

The biggest problem is that there are about 16 spaces for 20 flats most of which have 2 cars - do the maths!

I went to see my sainted parents yesterday, Got them sorted out for a trip to the Garden Centre (they are old...) Went down to the (lovely shiny new) car, and someone had parked on our drive, blocking us in. So we went and had a cup of tea. We went out a bit later instead. No need for all this drama....
                      it's in me shed, mate.

wrong, as long as there is a dropped kerb you can not park in front of someones drive, they have a right of access to get on and off their drive.
If there is no dropped kerb and they simply bump up the kerb to access a drive then you can park in front of it.
Normally the police will make enquires to contact the registered owner to ask them to move it. Failing that they have the power to have the car removed and the registered keeper will need to pick up all costs incurred to get thier car back.

Also the disabled bays the council put outside someones house, the ones marked with white lines and the word disabled written in them are not enforcable in law. They are nothing more than a nice to have car parking space on the road near someones house.
Only the bays with the correct disabled signs registered under the highways and show the blue badge sign are enforcable.

But you can show yourself up as a selfish tw@t by making a point of parking in one when you dont need to I suppose.

Only when the women who got one put outside her house walks out her house using two walking sticks then ten minutes later is playing footie in the back garden with her kids, should see her move when its raining.
