  • Brush Wires

Fitted some brush wires today. Only a prototype at the moment, but look good so far.

The only problem I can see is that the front roof bar will eventually slide forward under the tension of the wire. I may have to wire it to the rear as well to increase the grip.

look like they'll do the job fine ! - might want to put something over the end of the wire just incase it does lose tension - dont want a gouged wing off the cable. Bit of heat shrink/insulation/self amalgamating tape??

      Take care

Very nice, but you may have to remove them for the MOT as they maybe classed as dangerous.

Nah, plenty of Camel Trophy Land Rovers running around with them on.

Yeah, MOT will possibly fail on the sharp pedestrian harming bit, but hey, I only have to undo the turnbuckles and they are off.

Besides I'll have to do that to open the bonnet anyway!!

Looking good! Being a radio type, I would want to put an insulator between the turnbuckles and the lower end of the wire, so that I could load it up on the amateur bands. Oh gawd, another idea!

Went out to play with me new wires today. Surprisingly they did the job fine!! Much better when driving down lanes that are as wide as a footpath (legally I add)

Need to find a better way of attaching them to the nudge bar. Need some sort of clamp, maybe U-bolt with a 's' hook like the top so I can remove them completely should the old bill take too much interest.

Also fitted two small rectangular 100w each spots to the underside of the roof bars today. Went out to play in the dark. Looks the mutts nuts now!
