MOT Failure .. HELP

Hi Guys ... its been a while since I was around

BUt I need a bit of advice : Just had the MOT failure sheet back , most of it is sundries but one of them I do not know where to start or if it is a garage job and what parts i need to get hold of :-

1) Offside Rear Antiroll bar mounting missing . I think its the U shape bracket or bush or something.


2) Ive broken one of the front wheel studs off , how easy to replace is it ?


And anyone got a Nearside rear chrome bumper i can have ?

About £15 per side for both the bushes and u-clamps form your local Toyota dealer.


2) Ive broken one of the front wheel studs off , how easy to replace is it ?

Er, Dunno that one but I'm sure somebody will!


And anyone got a Nearside rear chrome bumper i can have ?

Try Hilux Bob or Streetluge Chris. (Other dealers are available).

Just knock the remainder of the stud out from the front, re-fit new stud from rear, they pull tight on the hub using the splines when you tighten them

2nd Gen is not that simple ! as you have to seperate the disk from the hub.

Do Milners do the U clamps ?

Should I let the garage replace the studs on the front wheel , if it is a bitch of a Job . ( im about as mechanical as a digital watch ! )

alternatively - just remove the antiroll bar for the MOT - cant fail if they arnt there..... Tony did that on his Ex's 4 runner and it didnt really make any difference to the handling (tho that did have uprated springs.)

How is you doing m8 - did you ever get all that mud out of the truck???

Rear Anti Roll centre Bracket - 005388G - £7.50
Rear Anti Roll Centre Bush - 004204 - £5.00 each

Are these the right parts ?



There is still remnants of the Pitt in my engine bay , but its clear enough for the air con to work now !

If you change the front bearings, you can do the job. Once you undo the bearings the disc is loose anyway.

And like others said, BFH the old stud out, and pull the new one in.
