Blanking the stereo hole

I'm planning to remove the standard double-DIN jap stereo on my Surf (92 SSR-G) and replace the stereo with a single DIN stereo. Does anyone know where I can get a cubby-box or similar to fill the gap this will leave in the dash? I want to use the gap for something useful like a cubby hole rather than just fitting a blanking plate. Any suggestions?

Incidentally - just come back from a few weeks hols in Kenya - a Surf spotters paradise - there's loads of them out there!!

Toyota do a pocket for the pickup which fits reasonably well for about £15...

Go to your local car dismantlers. Get the cubby box there, Nissan's are good, most of there models have a box with a hinged flap(oo-eer pardon me matron!) that will suit. Thats what I used on my 2nd gen.

Kenya was fantastic, we stayed in a great, relaxing hotel called Mnarani Club Hotel at Kilifi, which is about 45mins north of Mombasa. Also did a 4 day safari around Tsvaro (East and West), again fantastic. Anyone looking for a completely chilled and relaxing break, I'd heartly recommend the hotel - if you want more info, send me a PM.
