  • PC Bits Wanted

I am just about to purchase some parts for a new Pc that I'm building, and wondered if anybody had a source for cheap bits.

    AMD 64bit 3200+ CPU £141.99 inc vat

    MSI K8T FIS2R Neo Motherboard Socket 754 @ £70.73 inc Vat

    512 DDR 400 Pc3200 Ram @ £56.90 inc Vat

These are the best prices so far, but if anybody can get better it would be appreciated.

I have similar prices from Dabs and Ebuyer, and it all comes out at about £277 inc delivery.

            check all my usual places

            scan
            novatech
            etc...

you could save a couple of quid... part. on the ram...
but you get what you pay for.
and the hassle and delivery charges 4 splitting the order... etc
i dont think it would be worth it...

Pretty good price you got there anywayz!!

              Try http://www.cclcomputers.biz/acatalog/

Good as a price guide, and I've had good customer service. ebuyer tends to be cheaper, but found their customer service was v poor, they may have improved.

Prices are just a little bit more expensive, but I have my eye on a couple of the motherboards on ebay at the moment, one used and the other new, with a few days to go, so will not order the parts until auctions have ended.

Thanks for all suggestions so far guy's.

You should really checkout you nearest Maplin's as they have numerous motherboard bundles with better spec than the ones you've found and mostly under £150.
P.C. World have got their DDR2 memory doen to £65 for a 2gig module

ive got a single core AMD athlon 939 socket 2.2ghz 3400+ cpu for sale

but if you want some serious advice, dont go for AMD, especially if you want to do any overclocking. go for intel. they are quad pumped unlike AMDs dual pumped.

AMD did used to be the better chip when the intels were "single pumped" or "normal".

dont choose that RAM either, its out of date. DDR3 is the new base standard. and you will regret the slowness of the ddr1 you have chosen.

hope i have been some help
