Oh for ffs suck it up and stop being a pita, deal with him direct if you have an issue or don't deal with him. I remember a huge falling out the other year with some members and truth be told it was a storm in a teacup that could have been sorted out over a brew. I have been a member on here for a long time and can't fault folk who know their business a lot more than I do.... Saying that I can also help when they need it or signpost to any stupid question from anyone for that matter.. I am a novice with surfs but know that if anyone asks a bone question... Well they are probably asking for a reason. Anyhow you are talking about a conversion which I have no knowledge about but if you sent your truck off, I presume you couldn't do it yourself... So just talk to the guy instead of posting unhelpful stuff... Never know there might be a reason he hasn't been in touch... Life has got a habit of getting in the way of work & once things are sorted and if you are still not happy you could always take your truck to a proper company and pay thousands to make the conversation happen. Nuff said... Oh and apologies to the pendants.. Typed on the phone and I have sausage fingers!

Op don't take offence as it isn't meant for that but everyone seems to want something for nothing nowadays and sometimes folk make mistakes but get on with it.

Tried dealing direct-it's like he hardly exists!
So maybe not bother now-which is obviously what he wants-ignore things and they may go away.
Indeed I wish I had done the conversion myself ( I am capable ).
After seeing previous conversions, I thought why not get him to do it. More the fool me eh! You live and learn.

I wasn't trying to make a point. More that I was trying to see if he would actually engage in a reasonable conversation-or actually say anything at all, crazy notion! Believe it or not I didn't want to see him go from here(well stop participating) anyway. His choice to back away.

I don't see how your original statement would make anyone engage in conversation! You say it's his choice to back away, but could you blame him after what you had posted?

I look in on this forum often, but post very little due to the hijacking of threads and so called 'experts' giving $hit advice! Before you say it, that is something that you get on most forums -true - and I usually accept that. Unfortunately this forum isn't a patch on what it used to be, when the banter was just that and not there to knock someone for what they believe, do or say, or just plain slag someone off. If you must know, when I want to find something out these days I usually use the message system, and I'm very grateful to the response I get - which is every time unlike when something is posted! Oh, and to be clear, Vince has always been extremely helpful to me.

I have closely followed the postings on here that have been directed at Vince's work, and TBH I wasn't going to put my two pennies worth in, but I will.

What I cannot understand, is that if you have a problem with what was done to your truck for whatever reason, you should have sorted it out with Vince out of public view, no matter how long it took! What have you actually achieved by 'airing your dirty laundry in public' - apart from giving the opportunity to people to make comments, draw conclusions, and even have a pop at him, based on a very one sided view? It's funny how some people have grown balls and had a pop at Vince when he's obviously not going to respond!!

Ok, you'll say that Vince could have answered you and put this to bed, but once it went public, he was right not to respond on this forum.

Playing 'devil's advocate' I could be asking questions like these - please note they are not aimed at you nor am I disbelieving you:

Was Vince pushed to finish this when he was otherwise distracted due to family problems?

Was the vehicle taken and problems were caused by the owner?

Has the owner really tried to make contact as many time as stated?

Etc, etc........................... ........!

The answer to the above is simply that I don't know, none of us do! This is precisely why you need to put this to bed once and for all, and sort this out with Vince in private.

Yes I do blame him for what I posted. Got truck back March 2014. It wasn’t until the end of the year when I posted the info and pics. In this time probably received 3 emails from him after loads more than that sent to him. I think that’s enough time to offer an “I’m sorry” or “how can I put it right”. I primarily posted pics because of no admission he’d done anything wrong! And if he’s capable of handing back work of this sub-standard quality, why not make others aware of it. ( talking safety view here )

Yes, he was very helpful at the start when I said I would like a conversion doing and he was taking my money. As the conversion was going on he was less and less in touch.

One sided view – oh of course it is, obviously as Vince hasn’t come forward to say he did a crap job.
Why would I go to the trouble of taking photographs and putting them on here if it didn’t happen and them blaming them on Vince.
No he wasn’t pushed to finish this. He never made me aware of family problems. I did not know this.
He told me it was completed and ready for collection.
Why would I take the truck and spend so much time and effort taking it apart and assembling with wrong parts, assembling badly etc etc to take photographs and blame it on him? What would I gain?
And if he grew a set of balls and admitted he's done wrong, I may have more respect for him. Is that too much to ask for!
Anyway popcorn and beer lovers. No more comments from me tonight as I’m going out.
