Hi all, fitted gas struts to the bonnet yesterday - well worth it. Instead of having to weld mounting plates I just riveted into the box section stuff that stiffens the bonnet. Hopefully the rivets will last!

Haha, they sure do. But they don't use bolts for the bottom bracket - drilled the pre-drilled holes a little larger to accept the bolts I had for a little extra strength.Originally posted by Karma Supra View PostThe Redline gas lift kits use rivets anyway!
I've had no issues with mine, a year and a half in.
Good to know your rivets are holding up!

Will do soon as it stops pi$$ing it down.Originally posted by scott-lee View Postmore pics please ,got some struts last weekend, another job to do.any help, much appreciated
There is useful info on this forum in the meantime. Just remember that if the top and bottom brackets are mounted too close together, (with the bonnet in the closed position), then when you close the bonnet after fitting the struts it'll all rip apart. But if the brackets are a little further apart (5mm or so maybe) then this gives a little room error.
