  • iPod/mp3 amp?

Not for my Surf but for the works vehicle so no cutting of panels etc...

The AUX output from the MB stereo is pretty pathetic, you have to have the volume up at max and even then it is a struggle to hear anything, then when you put the radio on it blasts your eardrums

So any recommendations for a cheap(ish) amp, the line in for the AUX is 3.5mm and is in the glove box.

    Any suggestions?

Silly question perhaps....but is the volume up high on the MP3?

I have to max out the volume on my Nexus 5 or it's dead quiet.

It is as high as it goes, tried changing the Eq settings but the difference it makes is minimal.

Maybe it's just me, but...I've never got on with FM transmitters for music. There are so many stations on FM in the UK, that as you drive about you get interference on just about every settings.

            Just googled FM stations...
Yep there are a few, and by a few I mean a metric butt load.

Mini Amp might be the way to?

I went with a 4-channel Sony Amp under the passenger seat and a JVC head unit with a USB slot.

It's not Bang & Olufsen but at the end of the day the source is mp3 in a moving truck, so not the ideal audiophile conditions anyway.
