There is a guy in Bedfordshire who is trying to address this problem locally. He was responsible for getting the local kids together to raise money and support for a local skate park. The skate park got built and then a parade of shops opened near to the skate park. The yobbish behavior that has resulted from under age kids purchasing alchohol from the shops has been blamed, by local residents and traders, on the skate park. There was no aggro until the shops opened but the kids that hang round the shops have no interest in blading/skateboarding.
This same guy is now trying to purchase a piece of land, well screened/soundproofed from the nearby houses for the youngsters to learn to ride their bikes legally and safely. He has the support of a police officer who is a former junior Moto-X champ. the biggest problem he is having is local authority red tape. More power to him I say. He has my support.
Best of luck to him, wish I had the time and money to try something like that around here.
Ok, for anyone interested, back from the ecilop station about 5:45pm, 14yr old now has a reprimand on his file. The inspector sympathised with me when I said I'd prefer he was riding his bike than hanging around with a gang sampling booze, drugs and hurling abuse at people but there's nothing he could do, it had been reported and it had to be followed through. He can no longer use his bike unless he gets permission from a land owner (unlikely), if he's caught on it, or anybody elses, he risks confiscation. He looks like this
One for the nostalgia thread that was run a while ago..... people being more tolerant

I sympathise with your son..this nearly happened to me way back when I was about 8. I had a little automatic motorbike and my father used to take me to the local slack heap where all the old shale/coal deposits was dumped...one day I was on there away from houses etc.. and a copper decided to have a look...got called over by my father and luckily just talked to both of us about riding on land without permission.
What pees me off, is your son is doing something constructive with his life whilst all the other tw*ts destory things.
