i notice they use 60 dia instead of 50 dia to 'avoid punching through the mounts'
its little things like that, details that could make all the difference.

be like cheating on the wife,buying someone elses work! and i said i would look into doing some for a few friends as i can get the materials through work. im always doing 'homers' at work for someone or another. even do some turning for my mechanic's track car, which helps me out on my maintenance bills.
and as they say..........'one good turn deserves another'

I just removed an aluminium kit last week, every bolt had corroded to the ali and snapped when I tried to undo it.
Nylon or plastic is best.

that is a bummer.............aliuminium is at an all time low ,price wise. £85 +vat would get you 3 mtrs of 65 diameter aerospace grade.four 2'' kits and one 1&1/2'' out of that. anodising could have been done while work has their bits being done,so no real charge.........
better go back to the goods in guys and get some prices for plastics,then.
(have got some 316 s/steel hidden away,just incase)
got tomorrow afternoon off,i'll sort something out.
also have an expensive trip to roughtrax to do,xmas shopping for me.

Scott, sorry to side track this most amusing thread,
Jason drumm (off of the FB group) is offering to do some bodylifts at the meet next year for a donation to his charity (his mother inlaw just passed away from the big C ) wondering if it might be worth offering your kits to the prospective people..just a thought..pm me on FB if you want to discuss it...carry on with the shenanigans

but seriously (and im showing my ignorance here,again) why are all the 2'' -4'' kits mostly some kind of plastic ,and not ali like these...............

ali is much cheaper ,per length,by far. apart from the obvious corrosion issue,which could be solved by any number of means,paint,lacquer or plating,
why not??

I think it is for that exact reason, when I did this sort of stuff before I had to have a minimum number of parts before they would even contemplate finishing the metal for me. Cost me ###### thousands.
