No problem with calling something shit if you are an expert yourself.

But to say "that is shit" and not even knowing the bolts were different lengths yourself is a bit rich.

Yes, the kit is a bit overpriced, but what isn't nowadays.

Look forward to the OP selling lift kits for 20 quid.

actually,john, your not a million miles off the mark,in terms of material,at least.the main expense would appear to be the bolts if not bought in bulk. so all you really need would be friendly CNC operator to knock them out in his own time,and not charge you labour,as a favour.
do you know anyone like that?

if your about this weekend,i'll pop over with more details,materials etc. get a better idea of quantity and such. and its not that much effort with a CNC nowadays,wouldn't want to do it on a manual though!
think it would be better to continue this privately.

Surely if you want a project to get off the ground private would sound alarm bells!!

I still want to go ahead with this,regardless. you and your friends help and knowledge was much appreciated, and with what you are doing over their , i was thinking that there are things you could help me out with as well.

hold on,hold on. the B/S remark is aimed at the sellers claim as to the kit being 'highly superior to delrin'!! this is not true,there is only a marginal difference. look it up, i had to, i've never come across this material in 25 years of machining,'' polyacetal has high hardness,stiffness,excellent crepe resistance and dimensional stability,with a low coefficient of friction.used extensively for the manufacture of precision gears and bearings'' quote.
ideal for body lifts. UHMW isn't even carried in stock by my companys composite suppler, its special order only! im sure the kits fine,with the right bolts,that if the photo is to go by,have been zinc plated. but ,yes i think the mark up is high.
and yes, you do get what you pay for.but delrin is good enough for Rolls Royce,B.A.E and MOD contracts and so why not surf owners !holy crap,guys,
i was just trying to return a favour for someone on this forum who did me a huge favour,in his own time,and asked nothing for it, and yes i was willing to stand at a lathe and do all that just for good karma. isn't that what this forum is all about ??

LOL my post was not aimed at you mate, neither was it a personal attack on anyone.Most will know that i have slaved away at a lathe for days on end and put a lot of time and money into fabricating parts for people on here. I have used Delrin for my body lift blocks in the past.I was simply saying that not many people know or appreciate just how much work goes into producing something as simple as a body lift kit or just how much the raw materials are.
