Hey mate I've got the original bj spacer diagrams from years ago with dimensions on if it's any good to you .
I've had a few sets made up from them over the years and they fit nicely .

Aren't 95 series prado/colorado springs the same as a gen3 (I thought they were!!)

I know the 3rd gen has the same chassis as the prado/colorado. But what I dont know is wether Toyota in all their wisdom messed with the spring rates for the third gen giving it different coils to the prado.Ive not had much dealings with the 3rd gen.

True and we have lifted quite a few in our time eh mate.

Interesting read that..so should I go for a drag racer stance then to save my CVs and sanity or do I invest in a diff drop and level the front (manual hubs are a no go for me I'm far too lazy to get out and engage them )

Trouble is a diff drop defeats the object of lifting for clearance. ok you can run bigger tyres but the diff height won't change and yes it will save your cv's. So much to ponder on,so many ways to do it.

Mike FJ Cruiser rear coils are the way to go they give 1.5" of lift and bolt straight in.

I have a recollection that the front springs from an 80 series are the same as the rears on a gen3 ( think the USA boys use em for a 3" lift) dunno if that's something I should be looking at instead?

Yea the fj80 springs.only thing with that is you need a diff drop kit aswell,
