thought this might be the easiest way to get hold of you, mate.
right, ref our conversation about body lifts.
1, i can get the 8.8 medium carbon steel heat treated bolts through work,no problem, a local company called precision profiles do them for us, generally in boxes of 100 (so 10 kits) stainless equivalent would be a morgage job,so im told.
2, delrin (polyacetal) will be slightly more than ali,and both generally cheaper to by a 'length' which is 3 mtrs give or take a bit, which would give you 4 kits of 2'' and 1 kit of 1 1/2 (at 10 per kit) this leaves a bit left over for holding, part off tool (3 mm) and facing each component.
having seen this bit of bovine fecal matter i think its a good idea........

what i need to know is what diameter the spacers should be (im guess 60 mm) and what length bolts would be needed for 2'' and 1 1/2 kits, as buying a 100 of i need to get it right first time, i.e can they be too long or short.
work seem to be fine for me to do it though. (my new wheels have been on the lathe for over a month now, getting refurbed!)
once i get this ,i'll look into pricing up what you want, mate.
i'll be going for a shiny 1 1/2 ali kit, as i have the bumper bracket on my bull bar already done for this.
and do we need the appropriate class 8 nuts? or not.
    over to you mate.

For a 2" lift, you'll need 2x130mm, 4x140mm and 4x180mm M12 bolts and nylock nuts with plain m12 washers. Drop the bolt lengths by 15mm for the 1 1/2" lift. But to be honest 15mm is hardly worth the messing around. Spacers are good at 60mm diameter but a couple of mm either way will be fine they should have a 13mm hole through the centre.

Because it's being advertised with a photo of an old Shogun/Pajero having to be pulled out of some mud, because the kit didn't lift the truck high enough for the guy to drive out himself.

Either that, or the kit is fine, it's just a woman driving.

I've fitted around eight or nine of those kits to date, nothing wrong with them!

Buy one of those 'shit kits' and copy them, they're cheap enough.

No problem with calling something shit if you are an expert yourself.

But to say "that is shit" and not even knowing the bolts were different lengths yourself is a bit rich.

Yes, the kit is a bit overpriced, but what isn't nowadays.

Look forward to the OP selling lift kits for 20 quid.

I thought Xpjun sold fairly decent parts tbh.I have bought bits from them and know of quite a few others that have bought stuff inc the bodylift kits and have been happy.Yea may be over priced but as they say you get what you pay for.
The do the extended brake lines also which are great quality

lmao, I see its still easy to cause a shit storm on here. To be honest I though these kits were pretty good value for money. Get someone to stand at a lathe all day cutting up spacers, then facing them off and then supplying the hardware to bolt them in, in the first place. You get what you pay for at the end of the day, its common sense that no one will pay £100 for something that they can buy for half the price that does exactly the same job.

hold on,hold on. the B/S remark is aimed at the sellers claim as to the kit being 'highly superior to delrin'!! this is not true, there is only a marginal difference. look it up, i had to, i've never come across this material in 25 years of machining,'' polyacetal has high hardness, stiffness, excellent crepe resistance and dimensional stability, with a low coefficient of friction.used extensively for the manufacture of precision gears and bearings'' quote.
ideal for body lifts. UHMW isn't even carried in stock by my companys composite suppler, its special order only! im sure the kits fine, with the right bolts, that if the photo is to go by,have been zinc plated. but ,yes i think the mark up is high.
and yes, you do get what you pay for.but delrin is good enough for Rolls Royce,B.A.E and MOD contracts and so why not surf owners !holy crap, guys,
i was just trying to return a favour for someone on this forum who did me a huge favour,in his own time, and asked nothing for it, and yes i was willing to stand at a lathe and do all that just for good karma. isn't that what this forum is all about ??

LOL my post was not aimed at you mate, neither was it a personal attack on anyone. Most will know that i have slaved away at a lathe for days on end and put a lot of time and money into fabricating parts for people on here. I have used Delrin for my body lift blocks in the past.I was simply saying that not many people know or appreciate just how much work goes into producing something as simple as a body lift kit or just how much the raw materials are.

yes, mate. i know YOU were not having a go!
I still want to go ahead with this, regardless. you and your friends help and knowledge was much appreciated, and with what you are doing over their , i was thinking that there are things you could help me out with as well.
i've no intention of going into production with these kits,or selling them on any site.just thought a bit of mutual 'backstratching' might be of benifit to us both!
