When you get a chance...can you do me a favour, please?

Measure the distance (in the engine bay of the 3L) between the narrowest part of the inner wings? The 2.4L might be the same. Not sure if the 3L is squashed after it's accident! 30ish inches?

MMM!! should i be looking for a new turbo? i decide to clean up a few bits, and saw this.

after a lot of paperwork, got hardly time to tinker a bit, well i got a solution for the track rod end due the difference on the 2" drop, and done this,

first this is the driver side the way it came factory


then done 2" higher



one on top of each other to see the difference



going to paint them them fit them

any suggestions? thanks

I hope you are very trustful in the person who welded that.

once its on place i will check if knocks somewhere, if good i will be looking someone that can machine one pair in one piece, but what kind of material should i use?

Why did you alter it? (I know why you altered it)

But would it have been better to alter the Drag link and keep a stock pitman arm?

i thought it was the simplest way to do it, instead to be dropping the rest, what's your thought/idea?

It is a simple way of doing it, But usually with a stock pitman arm from a different vehicle.
For example: A Cherokee pitman arm fits a Wrangler spline and gives an increase in drop.
I don't know, maybe there is a stock arm from another model Toyota that will fit and give you the difference in drop.
Personally I would be wary of driving with such a vital component welded like that. (because it is cast, not because of the standard of welding)
Maybe by lengthening the drag link you could get over the problem created by the lift.
Not so much sideways force on the drag link so welding would be OK.

i did this to see how it worked, thinking if i don't lower it, it will be more protected offroading
