  • Exhaust options (for more noise)

My exhaust came apart after the flexi recently, and I like the noise.

Is it possible to keep it like this but routed to exit from the side?

Or does it have to have some silencing there for the MOT? (it's noisier but it's not massively noisy with the turbo in the way)

Or is any exhaust mod considered dodgy by MOT or insurance co.s these days?

exhaust noise is at the mot testers discretion, it is not compulsory to have any silencing in the exhaust.
"the exhaust noise must not be unreasonably above the noise level of a similar vehicle with a standard system fitted."
it must blow the exhaust gas clear of the cab.

my exhaust comes straight from the turbo, runs along beside the chasis rail and exits in front of the o/s rear wheel with no silencing and i have never had a problem with mots.

Where abouts in West Yorkshire are you? I had my side exit exhaust made Advanced Auto Services in Halifax. They have all the bending equipment and specialise in this sort of thing.

Mine is for a KZJ70 and comes put under the drivers door into a mini silencer. Very neat professional job.

Nice one. Thanks fellahs. I'm in Sheffield now and have found a place here that looks like it'll do the job
