Well my biggest fail yet!! last year was a fog lamp bulb!! this year:
    Brake imbalance
    Parking lever no reserve travel
    Re lamp not working
    Headlight too high
Stop lamp and indicator affecting each other
    Fog lamp not working
All near and off side drag links need replacement
    Warning on prop shaft UJ
Warning on Bumper skirt not secure

Well 12 hours later and all fixed yesterday...

The only thing I'm worried about is my tracking now I have replaced all the "Drag Links" which are actually track rod ends ( http://www.roughtrax4x4.com/?doc=16&cid=142&vid=1499 ) is it possible to sort the tracking yourself

When I fitted them I tried to match the arms on the floor and set them to as close as the same size as the existing ones.. now there all i place is there a good way to check ?

    Thanks

    Mark

You can get it close with a straight edge, some string and a lot of patience, but at about £100 a corner if you do scrub the tyres out you are probably better off going to a tyre place.

IMHO stay the fcuk out of the way of sh1t-fit, they may be quick but generally crap.

I always like these...used to use similar in the tyre center I worked in as a kid....easy to use and they do work...(NB you'll need a bit of 2"x1" to ensure they're parallel - across the front of the car/plates).

              or new:
              http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/pr...&TC=SRC-gunson

One major advantage over other methods...you get individual reading for the front wheels so as long as you drive over them (clutch dipped or off throttle at about 5mph) with the wheel straight and level you'll get a straight steering wheel afterwards.

And you don't need to know what the toe in should be for any given vehicle...as your doing it dynamicaly you just aim for parallel.

Would they work on chunky 4X4 tyres though.
I suspect the tread blocks might move around too much to give an accurate reading?

Never had an issue in thousands of cars that went through the tyre centre...we used them on the owners Range Rover and the Land Cruiser that replaced it...
