Does every Surf owner have the same problems?

The fact it cannot recognise the reg and then when you go via vehicle type it doesn't have your model, or only has a manual version, or only has a 2.4 option.

When you fill out the forms on a comparison site and get a cheap quote, then when you try to buy it you have to phone them for them to say "ah, your quote doesn't say its an import, even though you went in and changed it to Jap import to get the quote in the first place!!!!

I've also rang my current insurer and they want my excess to go up by £500 because its a now a gen3, and that I cant insure a gen3 without 2 years no claims, yet can insure my gen2 without. They suggested I took my no claims off my main car so I could use it on the surf.

What a complete load of boallax.

Its like they are using the fact its a jap import just to make it awkward or to double the price.
    If I like it, Bushwhacker doesn't. :-)

I got a half decent quote from them, got all the way to the payment screen, filled in my card details and clicked buy and it said "oops there's a problem, please call us. Will have another bash tomorrow. Seriously
If I hadn't put a deposit down on the truck id have decided to leave it.

Oh yeah...I paid them for mine, the following day I got an email that said in essence "your truck is to cheap, so we have decided to charge you another £52".....

Liverpool Victoria were ok for me. Could be my age though! Avoid Sureterm Direct like the plaque.

don't bother with online comparison sites, waste of time for the Surf and most cars.
Online My Forester quotes came out from £610 to £850 wtf, picked up the phone and got it for £361. This year played one off against the other and got it for £261.
Was the same for my 4Runner when searching online, most sites said it was an import.
Say not always what you know, but always know what you say.

After spending all evening on the phone and internet getting nowhere, trying to insure my new truck, I got a call back from a chap at Noel Dazely & Co Insurance Brokers.

His name was Dean Rawlinson. He was extremely helpful, no fuss, just took a few details and gave me a price better than I had got from any other insurer.

I got comprehensive cover, up to 3000 miles, me being 29, licence for 10 years, no no claims (as it is used on my main car) Living in low crime Devon,

                    £250. all sorted. :-)

I was beginning to lose hope!

Hope this doesn't break any rules but if anyone wants to try them heres the contact details.

They must have changed with the times. I tried to get a quote from them a couple of years ago. I was attracted by the fact that they offered cover for modified 4X4's, but when I told them that it was a Surf, they declined, saying that they didn't do Jap imports.
