  • Exporting to Amsterdam

    Hi folks,

Has anyone had an experience in exporting their Surfs to Amsterdam?

I'm looking at moving mine over there permanently but it looks like I'll have to pay £19,000 in import tax which is obviously not an option!

Hopefully I've totally mis-understood the rules and regs but can anyone clarify?

    Thanks in advance.

    Scott.

If it's from an EU country (ie The UK) to Holland it should be easy.

    There's no importing, just registering.

It's that close why not keep it on uk plates and drive it back every six months? As long as you can show your trip back it's all legal. Where I live in the uk I see the same polish, Hungarian etc cars in my car park for over a year. The police came round once and I asked about this fact...they just shrugged and said they never bother with this EU law..
        .... Which was nice.

Didn't know that, I imported one from Holland and one from Germany to the UK and they cost 65 quid to register.

(I now drive them in Serbia)
