  • Leaking Transmission Fluid??

    Hi all,

I seem to have developed a leak - a significant one at that. There also seems to be muddy substance mixed in with the fluid - can anyone hazard a guess as to the problem and also im not going to be able to sort it till next weekend as it is my one and only daily snotter - covering 140 miles a day - is that going to pose serious problems? Lastly - anyone know anyone who can have a look at it in the Gloucester area? Your help much appreciated.

    That looks yucky...

Have you had a look in the coolant, just in case the oil cooler is leaking in the rad and mixing in some water...(if it is I wouldn't drive it)

Try cleaning it up and see if the leak is coming from between the engine and torque converter. If it is, it's going to be gearbox out, as it is almost certainly the seal. This occurs frequently.
I certainly wouldn't drive it in that condition.
      Non intercooled nothing.

I can thoroughly recommend New Barn cars in Cheltenham , Neptune business park , off the Tewksbury road down the side of "The Range" they look after my Surf , Soarer and the wifes Smart car, I could meet up with you if you have trouble finding it or any other problems you run up against.

Thanks for the offer - I was down that road on Sunday looking at VW golfs at the VW dealership! Hopefully Tiny can look at it this weekend while I wait - possibly split CV boot (im hoping):-)
