  • Inlet manifold fabrication needed

    Morning,

    Anyone able to fabricate a new inlet manifold connection for me so I can connect my L200 intercooler to my KZN130?

    If you are familiar with what I'm rambling about, then this will hopefully make sense - I'm not entirely sure I am.

    Talked myself into doing an intercooler install after hearing it was cheap and easy - yep it is - unless you have a KZN130 and need to fab a new manifold inlet

    Try contacting Blizzard.

    His truck is the mechanical pump version I think which may make it easier.

        They would have achived much better results with a bigger I/C and mounted it behind the grille. Turbo lag wouldn't be an issue due to the extra piping as 20 year old Toyota diesels aren't known for their throttle response anyway.

          Cheers Webbo - will try and contact Blizzard and see if he has any dimensions and pass them on.

          I hear what you saying Bush - I had no real intention of adding an intercooler to my 3.0ltr as I know the benefits are meant to be better on the 2.4, but the bits have been free or cheap so far so i figured I mights as well - we'll see if the project ends up on a back burner!!

            Webbo - very roughly - what would it cost for a 115mm x 115mm x 4mm flat plate with a 90 degree 2" mandrel welded to the top - that is basically what I need?

              Not to sure what you mean by the 90 degree mandrel, do you mean a 90 degree bend ? and if so what size. It won't be a lot of cash, just need to get in mind exactly what you need.

                Sorry I just seen you would be looking at 2". If it is pipe, what sort of radious etc.

                  Essentially a copy of what Blizzard done would be ideal. I can't get in touch with him for dimensions, but essentially he took a 10mm base plate 120mm x 120mm welded on a 2" 90 degree bend facing towards the front of the truck - the radius has to be as tight as possible as I would like to keep the throttle body in place if possible. Measurements for the placement of the tube I'll try and get off the existing inlet connection.
                  Does thos kind of give you enough detail to fire me a rough idea of cost?

                    I would say about £25 delivered.Thats in Stainless steel. I would really need a drawing of some kind to know exact placement of bend etc, also I guess there is a 2" hole in the plate where the bend is welded to ? If you could email me a drawing it would be great. blackmossdog@yahoo.co.uk I hope this helps.

                      2" dia pipe sounds way to small. the 2lt is 2.25" stock standard. i would not put smaller piping on a bigger motor. also after the intercooler is one place you don't want any restriction. i would be going 2.5" dia piping minimum.

                      the other option, coinciding the 1kzte manifolds flow rather poorly, is to cut and reweld the actual manifold. fix some of the flow problems and put the inlet in the position you need.
