  • Help I've done something stupid...

Had a wobbly drivers seat for a while and noticed the front o/side bolt on the floor was a bit loose. 30 second job me thinks, so I found a 15mm socket and tightened it. It was a little better, but still a bit wobbly. So thought maybe it needs a couple of extra washers to make it tighter.

Started to undo the bolt and heard that horrible tap of what sounds like a captive nut falling off the back into a void.

Needless to say still have a wobbly seat and also a 15mm bolt, but nothing to bolt it too.... So much for 30 second fixes.

Any ideas how I get into this void to retrieve the nut?

    Many thanks

I've had that happen before too.
Just drill through the floor and fit a longer bolt.

It's a 14mm socket you need by the way, there's nothing on a Surf that a 15mm socket fits.
