they're a miserable lot down there Brian you wont get much of acknowledgement from them. They must think they have the only surfs around cause they just stick they're noses in the air whenever i flash them or wave, unless its just me

      • I would not of got much acknowledgement yesterday anyway as I was using my ex-company car K reg Citroen ZX.

I am just waiting for this car to die on me, so I can concentrate on the Surf and the Corvette, but it refuses to do so - after 126K miles has never broken down and only required new exhaust recently (still on original clutch).

Too many cars at the moment and need to run them all from time to time. Also, have an off-the-road (not off-road) BMW 635CSi and a Honda Pan-European. Running out of space on the drive. Still the Citroen can't last forever, or could it!!

Yeah, I like it as well but I'm affraid it's been off the road so long now that it's become a bit of a restoration project.

I had it when it was only 18 months old (it's a 1985) and had only done 18K miles. It was a 44 grand car at the time and after such a short time/milage I bought it for 20K - a bargain. It had reached a genuine 68K miles before I stopped using it over 10 years ago.

It's so long ago now I can't remember why I stopped using it. I think it was because it needed a new exhaust and at the time they were around a grand, which at that time was mega money. Then I got a company car, got married for the second time and later moved from Surrey to Cornwall. It became a job to do when I could get round to it - still trying to find the time but my Surf and Corvette are normally first priority at the moment.

My ZX was still going strong at 246K miles when I made the mistake of trading it in for a Freelander! mind you that was a diesel

Yeah, mines a diesel as well (1.9TD). Just changed the glow plugs as one had gone. Still first engine work, apart from timing belt, in 125K miles.
