  • Saying hello properly!

Having realized i haven't properly said hello, i though i better do a proper job.

    Hello

I'm James, i live near Bradford and have just bought my first 4x4 and Surf - I'm loving it.

Since passing my driving test i have always had a "classic" car, and have cut my amateur mechanic teeth on these. I started with a 1969 VW Beetle, then switched to a 1973 Reliant Scimitar.

Then, children happened and i had to become sensible for a few years, and drove around in a Avensis Verso.

But, i kept a secret (from the missus) Scimitar in a friends lockup, to restore later

Fast forward 6 years, kids are bit older & i hadn't turned a bolt on the Scimitar restoration, so I have sold it & all my parts & bought a surf to have some fun with, and here i am

As seems obligatory, here are some pics of my truck:

Thanks for the kindness & advice already extended my way, and once I've got my head round how a Surf works, i hope i can be a contributing member of the forum.

    James

That surf looks very clean, painted bumpers don't half make a difference. Nice colour, would like one of those.

    Hello and Welcome.
    Paul

    Surfless, donations welcome.

Gratuitous knob picture, maybe I should have censored it!

Yep the Surf is a great motor especially the 3 ltr so enjoy it. I too have owned scimitars, had a 71 se5 and a 74 se5a still have a lot of affection for them , pity reliant didn't squeeze a 4ltr into the front .

Thanks for the warm welcome chaps.

The Truck is pretty tidy, but a few bits have been fudged so need sorting out. But never mind, i like to tinker

I was sad to sell my SE5, but needs must. TBH, i think i'd bitten off more than i had time to chew.

I too still have a soft spot for them though, one day...
