  • Fuelly - HiLex fuel Consumption

    Hi Folks,

I think this site has been mentioned before, but its a way of tracking mpg and all that, it's a bit geeky but I used to do it anyway...

Either way, lots of people ask me how thirsty my HiLex is... so I've set up a Fuelly profile for it..

    http://www.fuelly.com/driver/charlieb/hilex-surf

Only one top up so far, mainly cruising at 80 (had a 300 mile round trip this week) with the odd full throttle burst (Because: V8 noises).

Either way, 21 MPG isn't bad! we'll see how it goes with more top ups, and town driving. -As a diesel I used to average 24 mpg.
    More Lift.
    More Tyres.
    More Engine.

Good site that, might try that myself.

Average 21mpg is not bad, though that's mostly motorway?

Drop your speed down to 65/70mph and that goes up to about 25+mpg,

    at least that's my experience.

Its the round town stuff that eats the fuel, best I can get is 200km per

tank, it doesn't matter how I drive it, its always the same.

Be interesting to see if the vvti is any better round town, my v8 is a

    96/97.
    Still on a mission.

The vvti's are a few mpg better on fuel, the lexus I dropped off with Vince is a 94 and I couldn't get more than 18mpg out of it!
