No they are not connected to the ECU. Just an electronic adjustable boost controller. Is they an LCD screen and a couple of knobs on the Blitz box?

The pressure hose from the controller should be connected to the turbo pressure hose via a solenoid. Should be either the type S or type R as shown in the PDF.

Nope, no screen or knobs on the box. It's just as my previous pics.

I have a picture of the rats nest of wires attached though:

      A) this T piece is attached to the pressure sensor on the blitz box - nothing is attached to the T piece!

      B) this plastic ducting contains the blue & white wires that are connected to the "main" connector on the blitz box. They go off somewhere behind the central console.

      C) the red & black wires (also connected to "main", presumably + & -) are not connected to anything!

Looking at the PDF, I think the solenoid is a type R, it looks the most like my gold block!

Looking more closely at the solenoid (above), there is a tube coming off the rear. This tube it only about 1foot long and does not connect to anything.

With my very limited and newly acquired knowledge (from you Nev, cheers ) and tell me if my assessment is wrong...

...it's knacked! The blitz box isn't connected to power, so surely can't be working. The blitz box has no pressure connection to the solenoid either!!

The big question is. What exactly is happening then when I press the boost button in my surf - it does seem to alter the boost level, not by much though.

      Hopefully this all makes sense

Oh another thing! Because it has a aluminium gear shifter, it has no overdrive button!!!. So I can't select the overdrive option.

I suppose the easiest option would be to buy a replacement shifter & re connect the overdrive.

Strange having an electronic boost controller that has no buttons, knobs or screen. I say rip it all out seeing that it's such a mess. Just connect a piece of hose to the turbo and wastegate as per factory. Any other identification on the boost controller such as a model number.

No idea unless there's something else there that you've not found yet.

Or find the wires and install another switch. Maybe on the console?

                Just a thought - dangerous i know!

What if, the button marked boost (actually the seat warmer button position), is actually the overdrive button?

What if it is wired to be in overdrive on all the time, but with button pressed it disengages overdrive and drops to 3rd?

Presumably this would give the appearance of an increase in revs, therefore boost levels.

The only flaw in this idea is than no overdrive light comes on the dash - that's assuming that there is actually one to come on lol.

Nev, i have also unplugged all the Blitz box tonight, ill see what the difference is in the morning & report back.

If revs drop when switch is used then it will be connected to overdrive. Is it somewhere around 80 - 85KPH that this happens with the autos?

I suppose it will feel like more boost when overdrive is switched off, but it's just revs increasing.

Yes there is. I think it says OD off. Don't worry about that yet. Just see what happens when you use the button. Watch the tacho. You can fix the light later if OD works, or find the OD wires later a connect a switch. I also think you have to have the ECT switch off otherwise it will hold third gear longer.

Gear lever swapped now, OEM one re-installed. Button worked, dash light turned on/off, but overdrive didn't engage!

Swapped ECU and overdrive now working

Last issue to sort is the flickering Engine Check light!!!!!! Throwing an error code 35. Prime suspect are this two pipes sticking out of the golden chip...

35 is Turbo Pressure Sensor. Front of intake manifold should have a hose from it to the Turbo Sensor with a small white filter in between. With all this other stuff that was connected before and not really knowing what is where now, just connect it as per factory setup as stated. Clear codes after and see what happens.

                            Ok, more developments!

I have removed the golden box from the turbo pipework:

This has now stopped the engine check light coming on and giving error 35 and seems to have a bit more guts on steep hills

                            Next…..

… Whilst swapping the ECU, i found another DIMOS device! This little box:

Which is activated by my boost switch, and is spliced into the wires going to the ECU.

I tried to get a good shot of the wires, but it was too dark. Will try again.

Any idea what this box is?

Also, near the ECU are two blocks that look like they should be joined - anyone know what they are?

                            Cheers

                            James

Spoke too soon! Engine check light again.
Will remove & replace the pipe work next week and remove little black box from the ecu wiring.

The truck is booked in at a local auto tech on Monday, to remove all trade of the Dimos boost electrics.

The chap there said it was a standard sort of setup - designed to dump more fuel into the mix when you press a button. The box wired into the ECU tells the ECU to up the fuel, or tells the pressure sensor to tell the ECU to deliver more fuel - or something like that

It might explain why the pressure sensor is throwing a wobbler. I'll know for sure after Monday whether the pressure sensor has been damaged from the abuse.
