  • top speed?

sunny day, good tunes, clear road, right foot sinking deeper and deeper I was amazed to find the speedo needle passing 90mph with more umph to go! Now I didn't buy the thing for its sporting abilities but now I am curios to just how fast other forum members have had out of theirs. 2.4 or 3ltr diesels , 2.7 or 3ltr petrol , auto or manual and of course the 4ltr lexisurf. Childish I know but fun.

145KPH (90MPH) in my 2.4. Could have done more, but I got scared and bailed out when it started to wander a bit. Not done it again.

              Nev.

I did 80mph in my 2.4 once, the temp gauge starts rising at that speed so never did it again.

An easy 110mph in the 2.7.

Both trucks had H rated, standard size tyres at the time.

Never tried in a Lexurf, but then thats not what they're about.

BTW, your 3.0 wouldn't have had any more 'umph' after 90 mph, they run out of horse power at 80mph.

Been there in my old 2.4. I had just over taken them as well then hit a hill and slowed right down. How my wife chuckled as the HGVs went passed

100mph in my 3.0td, however it was on the back of a transporter does that count? it also did 230miles on 2 gallons of diesel on the same trip!
Old enough to know better but then again.....

I found myself tootling along on Luxury IV. Just so could give it the beans and make some noise near old people. It was rapid whilst accelerating. never really tried for top speed.
                      Non intercooled nothing.

Was that before you changed the speedo face to read MPH?

I don't like to go over 100 on my BFG A/Ts

As a diesel it didn't really go much over 110, the Ex claimed to have seen an indicated 120... Stock sized "Tarmac only" tyres.

                              All private roads, obviously.
                              More Lift.
                              More Tyres.
                              More Engine.
