Already a recipe for disaster - which occurs all too often - the addition to this melange of well-meaning idiots walking or cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats for charity makes it lethal. It seems entirely reasonable to keep intrinsically slow-moving traffic off the main roads whilst campaigning vociferously for them to be better provided for.
Fundamentally when you mix vehicles of varying speeds and size you get accidents....
I've often wondered if all drivers should try all vehicles when getting a license to have an appreciation of the other point of view...

I have a push bike, a motorcycle license, car license off course and have driven vans and the odd 7.5 ton wagon over the years, each time i try something new I get better at the other stuff....

Also read an interesting piece on the TRL website about average speeds and environmental noise that showed a clear correlation to accidents, worth a read if your interested.

My employer installed this on all vehicles.

      Works very efficiently.
