stuck back window

Hi chaps ,
I've gone through all the search threads looking for a similar problem
but not found anything !

I've had the cover etc off , greased the moving parts cogs etc, silicone sprayed
window rubbers etc .

It wont move up or down on the key switch or lever cockpit switch ,

I have the click of the solanoid in back ,

It started off as the normal problem with sticking and eventually needed a hand going up,

Is there a way of manually lifting the window ? Iv'e tried this with no luck so far !

Any ideas Guys ???? Thanks in advance for any help ! Cheers

Hi Guys, forgot to mention the window is stuck down with about 50mm showing, ive managed to lift it a little and press it down a little until the internal arm drops into slot corner and wont return !

Two things you can do immediately:

1. Yes, it can be lifted by hand and you can stick a bit of wood or whatever in there to hold it up.

2. Run a direct feed from the battery to the motor and it will move either up or down, depending on the polarity. If it doesn't the problem's with your motor / mechanism, not the relays or wiring.

Hi Thanks for that Sancho , I've just managed to get the motor out with the glass down ! #### knows how i managed as it is quite tight ! i didnt even chip the bark !

so I'll have a look at the motor and see if rubber mount is in tact !

How do i test it first with 12 v ? , bit of Dullard as far as electrics go ,

any size wire ? Just to one terminal or what ?

Took the cover off the motor and its full of rust and some brown rubber shreads, the metal cog looked in good nic , i.ll have to check that rebuild thread to see if i have enough parts ! lol

Well glad to say ive got it fixed !

Got a used motor in fantastic condition for £38

went in a lot easier than it came out with window out of the way !

I should of siliconed it years ago !

Well done, had to change my rusted, seized runners and motor recently, bi#ch of a job but sweet as now!!
