    After almost 5 years of Surf ownership I,m thinking of moving on to a Land Cruiser Colorado D 4D......... Please don't tell me it's a pile of poo !!

    So you're sticking with a 3rd gen but want a different body?

    Moving on or upgrading would mean a Landcruiser Amazon to me.

          It's the extra power for towing that I'm looking for. I alway thought the Surf struggled a bit with our large twin axle caravan !!

            The 4.2 six cylinder diesel Amazon is the one you need (1998-2008) you won't feel the caravan on the back!

                Over here they have D4D V8 Landcruise Diesels. Never driven one but they sound beefy as standard. They use them for mining vehicles just for general carrying people around the sites.
                Just had a quick Google, apparently it's for the ozzie market and is a 4.5L V8 Diesel turbo (unsure whether single or dual). Torque figures are pretty decent! (As is MPG if it holds true).
