I reckon the chaps he saw yesterday are not truly representative of the majority of Scots. Most would have barricaded him out of the pub, unless he was buying...

Not all of those protesting his presence were even Scottish. There were chaps from England too.
They were students as well and although not very good at protesting like our brave academics of the 60s, all students like a wee protest, if they think something is a bit right wingish, and they are not going to get beaten up by fat blokes with bald heads and badly spelled tattoos for protesting

I actually like(d) him, he speaks quite a lot of sense quite a lot of the time. But he is racist and he can't seem to get his head round the fact that the bits of the UK that aren't called England, don't like being called or classed as English. Once he realises that, I'll be his pal again.

What niggled me most about the pub fiasco was what one of his party twit's tweeted afterwards.

I think people confuse racism as national pride.

It seems it is not "fashionable" to be patriotic these days, for fear of offending those that choose to live with us, but not integrate with us.

            Which is a shame.

For someone that recently voted UKIP, I'm surprised Nigel didn't perhaps approach this slightly differently.

If the students were from Edinburgh University then they were probably all English (and no, I don't have an issue with that).

                Ok, I'll bite. Who are:

"those that choose to live with us, but not integrate with us"

What are they supposed to be doing, and who are 'we'?

My family are Scottish and I have hassle every time with a local who doesn't know me!... (English go home!)...

but saying that, I also get hassle when I visit north east England family because I have a southern accent.

My mum also had to leave her ladies club (down south) because the old women were being mildly racist about Scots and her friend stuck up for her.

so, if you're not local then you're not welcome by the looks of things!

I'm closer to Ross county. And I might be starting something here, but IMHO, Scottish football...it's a bit like Stv...which itself is a bit like QVC.
