garage reckons i need a new turbo, but a new one is a few hundred quid plus same again for fitting he reckons, plus cleaning the intercooler or sommat. so i dont reckon its worth spending all that on such an old truck.
does anyone have a used turbo for a 92, k-reg, 2.4 ln130? plus i need an intake elbow that attaches to it, the garage took mine off and its a bit perished so now doesn't fit properly, i could barely get up the hill to the house, with clouds of smoke james bond would be proud of!

if i cant get a second hand one, how much does a nearly non runner fetch now-a-days?

ps. i did look in the parts for sale section

    cheers..............mick

Try a seller on eBay jap4x4part. Breaks loads of surfs. Think he's also a member here but can't remember his name.
Someone will be along soon with silly comments and some useful ones lol.

I would get your garage to show you where your intercooler is and how they expect to clean it.
Then perhaps get a second opinion.

happily not thrown owt his way yet.

                so heres the scenario....

loads of smoke. when coming up steep hills and upon reaching the top and bearing left surf cuts out, wil restart no problem but scary turning a corner with no steering, done this 5 times, he was saying oil going through the turbo, but as you obviously know, he could tell me anything as i know jack about cars, but i deffo do need an intake elbow as its perished, and apparently a turbo, although the turbo still kicks in when it should, and it dont make any noises or rattling, which, looking through threads on here it does if its gone k'put.

gonna watch the darts now and chill a bit , i'll worry about it after

                ta anyway

Should have asked this earlier, "what colour smoke?"

Go elsewhere, and a few hundred to fit a turbo on a 2.4! Rip off liar.
well, that was a bad idea!

You are close to Vince who pulls 2.4s out of trucks on a fairly regular basis.
By the bits from him, pay him some extra and he may even fit it for you.

I have to say he is a good seller. Bought a few things from him including a con-rod which I was struggling to find elsewhere.
