Diesel fuel pump ?

Hilux Surf 3.0 1996 Gen3


Firstly please be kind as I am a complete mechanical novice...Trying to learn.

My rev Counter does not react at all and want to start by checking the connections that are apparently on the diesel fuel pump and then working back...

Please can you assist with pointing out exactly where it is located ??

Front left of the engine, it's the big metal thing with pipes coming out of it.

Nope, that would be the right hand side of the engine. The left hand side of the engine is on the right if you look at it from the front.

Thank you for you help chaps.

I am going to have to get a workshop manual. I think I have located the diesel pump but there are more wires in the area than I anticipated and don't fancy fiddling around without identifying the correct wire that is the feed for the rev counter.

If anyone has a picture with an arrow pointing to the correct wire on the diesel pump feed I would be grateful.
