As the time for the annual test draws close I have a few queries that I hope you can help with.
Firstly the emissions test, you know the one where the sadistic tester holds the engine at WOT, for what seems an eternity.
On more modern diesels you can't rev to more than about 3000rpm in neutral, one would assume that this is a built in feature.
I quite like this idea, especially now my engine is on her second cam belt (200k+).Now other than blocking any further travel of the throttle pedal when the engine has reached 300orpm, is there any other way of stopping the engine being redlined? and if so how?
Secondly this query relates to the suspension upper ball joint. The tester has posted an advisory about the rubber boot being split but not letting dirt in.
I thought the boot had a weep hole for excess grease to leak from?
Can anyone that has changed one or greased one up noticed this hole?
