Mine is even worse because i cut the tailpipe and welded it straight to the back with a rectangle tip on it. Smells like an old bus.
When I start running on on veg oil it will smell nice.
There is no silencers in mine and its obnoxiously loud. Currently welding in a small resonator.
With a gasless mig trying to do stainless steel is hard in itself, with a 5mm difference between the pipes its making for a messy weld

That void needs to be filled again so air gets "sucked" round the back of the car. Air behaves like a liquid. Think of the effect a rock has in a flowing stream. Your car is the rock, the air is like the water. And it's much more pronounced with cars that have a flat rear end. Like a Surf. Anyway, physics lesson over; I'm boring myself (and others, probably....)

With just the rear open it just causes a vortex at the rear of the vehicle with no significant air flow as such.Say not always what you know, but always know what you say.
