  • 4runner for sale,Worth a look?

    Hi all,Still lookin for a truck.Have found a 4runner,

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-4-R...item460d576de8
What do you rekon about the overboost sensor? Have read up on the forum this could be engine managment/turbo wastegate? not just a faulty sensor.
    Best wishes.

The light shouldn't come on at all, it could be a number of things.

Wastegate problem, it maybe sticking, or someone might have put washers behind it to increase boost pressure.

4Runners also have a Altitude Boost Compensator on the fuel pump, this could iffy (but its only a diaphram and spring), and it also has a setting screw on top which someone again could have messed with.

Or it could be something simple like a duff pressure sensor, or wrongly routed vacuum hoses.

looks like a new rad cap as well?
Personally I would offer him £500 and then walk way, whats your budget?

Love it when sellers claim that the vehicle has "rare" parts, such as the 3.0 litre engine "rather than imports" and "Electric sunroof"

Gosh, does this mean my Surf is rare, as I have both of these lol??

There appears to be a lot of rare surfs about, including mine!

Not a lot wrong with autoboxes as long as the oil is good.

The advert is referring to a 4runner and not a Surf, and especially not a third gen Surf

I don't think that the engine and sunroof combination you describe that your truck has would be described as rare.

However does your truck have the not so rare air intake mod?
