Hi Guys
Steve from sunny (I should be so lucky) Cornwall here... earlier this week I picked up a 1995 Gen 2 3.0 manual Surf with 140k on the clock for £1200, so I'm am now a member of Surf Club
Shes a bit rough around the edges but thats ok as shes going to be a gunship/zombie runner... the chassis and engine seem fine, nothing overly rusty, smokey or leaky to be found...

I got it from a friend of a friend and I know he's oiled/filtered her yearly (not his main car) but thats about all I know in terms of maintenance history.
First thing I did was change the oil and filter, air filter and fuel filter will be next, I should do the cam belt to be sure (?) and I've see theres a load of points that need greasing?
What else should I check/oil/grease/top up etc?
Talking of grease, I've seen the grease diagram in the downloads section and borrowed a gun off a mate but him not having used said gun for a while couldnt tell me what grease was in it apart from its red
...
should I be going out and getting some general purpose lithium specific grease or will this red stuff do the job?
I also see two types of grease on the diagram, is this really necessary or can I use lithium all round?
With her being a cheap truck for me to bash around the country lanes, hack across farm land/tracks (yes she will be going off road
) and me liking a bit of DIY I think I'm going to put my mark on her, nothing crazy just blacking some of the rougher areas like wheels and bumpers.... something like this
before and after... oh the joys of photoshop

cheers
Steve
