  • KNZ130-1KZ-TE Fuel efficincy

    Hi,
I recently bought a surf (yom 1995, millage 185,000km). I'm little bit worried about its fule consumption. It only does 6km per liter in the city and 10km/liter in highways.

    Is this normal?

I have done all services on time.

Please advice how to improve this.

    Thanks

    Hi and welcome.
What your getting is about right, if you want more mpg I suggest you buy a smart car or similar or push it where ever you go

      As per Koi's reply, about right. You're getting 14 - 23 mpg.
I run a KZN130 auto and I'm getting 17.5 - 22.5 mpg. Thats worked out on full tank to full tank.

Yep, don't buy a 90's jap import if you want economy as they are all as bad as each other!

I don't know about that......I've been told that Nissan Figaro's are quite economical.

Last time I checked, (I don't do this often unless I'm in self harm mode) I was getting 450 km to 62ltrs. No idea what this is in english but it would seem the term "KNZ130" and "fuel efficiency" do not sit well together!

That said, in the short time that I've owned it I'm impressed with the Surf's ability to shrug off 2ft/3ft of flooded road, dragging a trailer, 2tonnes (ish) about, (1500k officer!) and "helping"(ahem) a 26tonne tanker off a muddy field entrance. The auto box did get kind of warm though! The only thing that would better this performance is a late Nissan patrol at the right money, and I had one for 10 years so I'm not talking bummox!

Ahh, nice to see an english speaking person! (Am I allowed to say that in our PC world?) 20.6ish mpg..... sounds about right, would seem a relative term in the "Great scheme of things"

Full tank to full tank I got 26.4 mpg on a run from norwich - heathrow and back. Mixed driving with several miles at 80mph (true speed) with a 1 hour park-up jam on the M25. KZN130. Not bad really.

                    Thanks guys,

No I made up my mind
But I'm enjoying it a lot and it has very good off road capabilities. At least one safari in every 2 months after I bought it. And also thinking fitting a snorkel too.
                    Thanks
